..- Overview of the programme The Junior Public Health Professional (JPP) Programme in WHO South-East Asia Region (SEAR) has been operational since 2011. The programme aims to provide young public health professionals (under 35 years of age) from SEAR Member States with a valuable opportunity for hands-on learning and leadership development within the WHO environment. The program seeks to strength the technical and management capacities of emerging public health professionals by engaging them in the implementation and monitoring of priority health programs. It also exposes participants to the strategies and working modalities of WHO, inter-governmental organizations, and international health development partners in supporting Member States. To promote equitable capacity building across the region and attract young talent in key public health areas, opportunities will be offered through a JPP roster mechanism. JPP opportunities under this roster are available in the following technical areas: - Access to Medicines and Health Technologies (AMT) - Global Leprosy Programme (GLP) - Neglected Tropical Diseases, Malaria and Vector-Borne Diseases (NTDM) Terms of Reference Under the overall guidance of the designated supervisor, the JPP will support in one of the three technical areas mentioned above through the following tasks: - Providing technical and programmatic support to SEAR Member States in the implementation and monitoring of initiatives related to medical devices management, diagnostics and laboratory strengthening, oxygen systems, solarization of health facilities, and disease control technologies. - Supporting surveillance, monitoring and data analysis through the collection, compilation and analysis of epidemiological and programmatic data, and contribute to the development of regional dashboards, country profiles and reports. - Contributing to evidence generation and operational research, including desk reviews, assessments of country needs, and studies related to health technology assessment (HTA), cost-effectiveness, and programme implementation. - Assisting in the development and adaptation of digital tools and information systems for programme monitoring and case-based management. - Supporting the preparation and dissemination of technical guidance and knowledge products, including policies, guidelines, SOPs, training materials, communication materials, and documentation of best practices. - Assisting in the organization and delivery of capacity-building activities such as workshops, webinars, and training programmes for Member States and partners. - Contributing to programme monitoring and evaluation, including documentation of implementation progress, best practices, lessons learned, and participation in field missions where required. - Supporting coordination with WHO Country Offices, ministries of health, technical partners, and other stakeholders to facilitate programme implementation. - Assisting in advocacy and resource mobilization and advocacy efforts, including contributing to the development of proposals and investment cases. - Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Job specific TOR will be developed in due course in consultation with respective supervisors. Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- Master’s degree in public health or related technical area - Additional certified training in the specific technical area relevant to the candidate’s application. - Publication in scientific journals. Experience
