Role Purpose
The Data and Knowledge Management Officer (with Geographic Information System - GIS) supports the generation, management and visualisation of programme data and knowledge within Save the Children Cambodia’s REALM unit.
Reporting to the Research, Evaluation, Learning & Business Insight (REL&BI) Coordinator, the role manages data systems, dashboards, knowledge repositories and GIS-based analytics that support evidence-driven programming, strategic decision-making and organisational learning.
The position plays a key role in strengthening data management, spatial analysis and knowledge systems that support programme monitoring, learning and evidence use across the Country Office, with a primary focus on supporting the data and knowledge management needs of the BRACE Project funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
The role contributes to the development of digital evidence platforms and spatial analytics used for initiatives such as the Child Deprivation Atlas, Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) dashboards, Safe Schools, and programme performance visualisation, ensuring that data and learning generated through Building the Climate Resilience of Children and Communities through the Education Sector (BRACE) Project and related programmes are accessible and usable for programme improvement.
Working closely with the Climate Change Advisor, the position also supports the visualisation and spatial analysis of climate and resilience-related data used in climate risk analysis and adaptation programming under the BRACE project.
While supporting data and knowledge systems at the Country Office level, the role ensures that analytical products, dashboards and GIS outputs directly contribute to BRACE project implementation, monitoring, reporting and learning.
The position is primarily funded through the BRACE Project and supports data management, analytics and knowledge systems that strengthen the project’s monitoring, learning and strategic evidence functions.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Data Science, Statistics, Geography, Information Systems or related field
Experience and Skills:
Essential
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in data management, analytics or GIS-related work
- Experience in Power BI or other data visualisation tools
- Experience using GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS or similar)
- Strong data cleaning and data management skills
Desirable
- Experience working with development or climate-related programmes
- Experience producing GIS-based programme analysis or spatial dashboards
- Experience using statistical or analytical tools (R, Python, SPSS)
Contract length: Unspecified Duration Contract (UDC).
